Google’s Bolands Mills offers 46 reduced rent homes. Clúid manages the rentals, prioritizing local workers near Dublin 4.

The homes are in two buildings: one is a renovated old building and the other is brand new. Google will lease the homes to Clúid for 25 years. Clúid will rent them to local workers, and the rent will be below the usual market price.
Adverts for the apartments start tomorrow, Wednesday, February 19th. There are different apartment sizes: thirty-five have two bedrooms, ten have three bedrooms, and one larger apartment also has three beds.
Two-bed apartments cost €1,710 each month, while three-beds cost €1,850 monthly. The larger three-bed costs €2,100. Clúid compared these prices to a report, showing their prices are much lower than average. Two-beds are 27% cheaper, and three-beds are 36% cheaper.
The plan helps vital local workers or “key workers” who provide important services. This includes public safety, healthcare, and education, as well as transport, law and order, and infrastructure.
Applicants need a local connection, meaning living near Bolands Mills within a 1.5km radius. This can include being born there, having lived there for five years, or having family living there. Working there is also another qualifying option.
Clúid’s Eibhlin O’Connor spoke about the homes, noting her group has managed homes for decades. She said that good housing options are key and that rent levels match worker salaries, making them affordable. The apartments are also well-insulated, meaning cheaper bills.
Vanessa Hartley, Head of Google Ireland, said Google is proud of their role in the area and is happy to work with Clúid. She adds they are helping local workers live nearby and believes that Bolands Mills should help the community. The partnership is a step toward that goal.
