Jason Cleal was hurt in a robbery, and he feels the police let him down. It happened while he waited for a bus. He was waiting in Digbeth on December 30 and had just left The Anchor pub when a man asked him for money.

Jason refused the robber’s demand, leading the man to punch him many times. Jason, who has autism, felt scared and hurt. The robber then threatened to kill Jason, demanding he give him cash.

Jason gave him £10 to make him stop, but the man wanted more from a bank. Jason reported it at Digbeth Police Station. An officer took details, called his mother, and then drove him home.

Sadly, the police found nothing. CCTV cameras were off or misdirected, leaving Jason feeling like the attacker got away unfairly. Jason and his mom are disappointed and believe police need to do more to catch criminals like this one.

Police said they are investigating it and explored CCTV, but found no suspect. They said they contacted Jason and his family. Police take robbery reports seriously, and dedicated teams investigate these crimes. Anyone with info should contact them using Live Chat or call 101, citing reference number 20/1014976/24.
