Masked burglars targeted Devon shops, stealing cigarettes and vapes. Police are investigating several break-ins.

The burglars tried to enter an M&S store at Barley Grove Service Station. Three people damaged a window there between 12:20 am and 12:30 am on February 22. However, they fled because they could not break the glass.
Around 12:50 am, they attempted a burglary at Fishleigh Rock Garage in Umberleigh. Three men forced the shutter door, but they could not get inside.
The suspects wore face coverings and hooded tops. One person was distinguished by wearing white trainers.
Later, around 2:20 am, they broke into Morrisons Daily on New Road in Great Torrington. The people broke a window and took tobacco in a builder’s bag.
The next day, February 23, they broke into a Spar store on Broad Street in South Molton. They searched the store messily, targeting alcohol and tobacco.
Three males ran away from the Spar store down an alley near the pannier market. They wore black clothes, and one carried a floral bag.
Devon and Cornwall Police are investigating these incidents. Police are asking witnesses to contact them and report any information online or by phone, quoting crime reference number 50250045896. Police also ask residents to check their CCTV footage.
