A dog owner is devastated after her beloved pet was fatally attacked in Bideford. Police have arrested a man.

Terence went limp after the Staffy released him. People rushed him to a vet quickly, but sadly, the vet could not save Terence.
Amy-Louise Cole, the owner, is devastated, and her family is also very upset. She said Terence was sweet and gentle; he would not hurt even a fly.
Amy-Louise and her partner are extremely sad. Her three-year-old daughter will miss Terence. She called it a violent and dramatic event and believes Terence did not deserve to die.
Amy-Louise did not see the attack happen. Her 82-year-old grandfather walked Terence near Clovelly Road and Moreton Park Road on Wednesday afternoon, February 19.
Terence was leashed during the attack. The other dog bit Terence’s back hard, and people tried to open the bigger dog’s mouth. Terence was covered in blood.
Devon and Cornwall Police found the Staffy dog. They seized the dog and placed it in kennels, where they are now keeping it safe.
Police arrested a man in his 40s on suspicion of assault and dog control issues. The charges include causing injury resulting in death. The man lives in Bideford without a fixed address and remains in custody.
