Bloor Homes proposes 200 houses, a community hub, and school expansion land in Newbold Verdon, Leicestershire.

Bloor Homes asked the council about the project. The land is near Bosworth Lane, in Newbold Verdon. Bloor Homes has not yet submitted planning papers, but asked if they need an environmental review first.
Papers show the land has space for two entries, one from Bosworth Lane, and another from Hall Lane. The school land is by the school’s fields. The plot sits on 21 acres, next to homes that already exist there.
Bloor Homes plans open spaces for people to gather, including paths and playgrounds. The hub could be for health or community use.
The council said Bloor Homes does not need an environment review. Bloor Homes may submit an application soon, starting with an outline application to confirm house numbers and entry points only.
A second application will come later, showing home sizes, styles, and the site layout. Another project could add 135 homes nearby, as an extension to a 239-home site from last year.
Persimmon wants to build “phase two” off Brascote Lane. Early plans have a country park. The council planned homes for this site before, prompting residents to worry about more traffic and service stress.
