Hey, guess what happened in Derry? A BMW driver rammed a police car, twice! This was on Tuesday morning, and the driver subsequently escaped from the police.

Police are seeking assistance to apprehend this individual. The incident unfolded in the Creggan area around 11:25 AM. They are currently looking for the driver of the blue BMW.

A police inspector described the actions as ‘appalling’ and ‘frightening’ for the officers involved. The officers are reportedly badly shaken after the events.

The police reported that the incident occurred on March 4th while officers were patrolling Creevagh Heights. The BMW reversed rapidly out of a driveway and collided with the police car’s side. The BMW then moved forward before reversing again, ramming the police car a second time. As the BMW sped away, it narrowly missed a woman, who thankfully remained unharmed.

Inspector Gahan is appealing for public assistance with this case. If you have any information regarding the ownership of the car or can identify the driver, please contact them.

The officers were directly targeted in an act of completely unacceptable behavior. The police car sustained damage, and the repairs will inevitably impact the community. Please contact the police at 101, referencing number 518 of 04/03/25.
