The National Trust has events at many properties. Chatsworth House and Chesterfield also have activities. Calke Abbey, Foremark, and Staunton Harold offer adventures.

They partnered with author Sue Wilkins. Three outdoor trails feature characters from her books. Kids can search for Flynn’s friends at Calke Abbey. Arkwright the Duck explores Foremark and Staunton Harold. Trails include nest building and learning to fly. These trails run until March 9.

Chatsworth Farmyard has animals from February 15-23. Visit from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm. See piglets, goats, and rare breeds. They may have newborn animals too. Enjoy tractor rides through Stand Wood. Rides run 11:00 am-1:00 pm and 2:00 pm-3:30 pm daily.

Woodland Lab Workshops are February 18, 19, and 20. Workshops run 10:30 am-12:00 pm and 1:00 pm-2:30 pm. The Stickyard is the location of these workshops. Kids can examine moss, lichen, and fungi. Discover zombie trees and art activities too. Woodland explorer walks occur at 11:00 am and 1:30 pm.

Chesterfield hosts circus fun on February 22. The event is at Vicar Lane Shopping Centre. It runs from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. See stilt walkers, singing, and dancing. Kids can join circus skills workshops. A fire performer will entertain visitors.

Hardwick Hall has activities from February 15-23. The Stableyard hosts games like Match the Pairs and Connect Four. Write a sonnet or use the mud kitchen. Crafts are February 17 and 20 in the East Stables. Kids can print spring meadows or make origami. Stroll the gardens and hall with a themed sheet. Discover love stories of Hardwick.

Ilam Park has a self-led bird trail. Find ten wooden birds around Ilam Hall. A trail sheet costs £3. Get a wooden bird house feeder. Decorate it at the bookshop’s colouring station.

Kedleston Hall has winter-themed activities. These adventures include welly wanging, self-led yoga, and snowball bowling. Little ones will like the Nature Nook, including the mud kitchen and wheelbarrow races. The event is free, but admission applies. The hall is open every day.

Longshaw Estate has a trail from February 15-23. Pick up a sheet at the Welcome Building. Find eight tree species along the route. Try bark rubbing on the trees.

Sudbury reopens February 15-23 after cleaning. They celebrate Sudbury Showcase. Enjoy storytelling and clock tours. Face painting and guided walks add to the fun. Crafts, activities, and games are also available. The café is open 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
