A councillor says getting a bus in Derby city centre isn’t easy, urging investment in bus infrastructure.

She wants more signs showing bus routes so people would know where to catch their bus. Care spoke at a council meeting about the issue. Derby got £15.6 million for road improvements.
The East Midlands Combined County Authority is giving the money. Care thinks more money is needed for roads and that the public should decide how to spend it.
Care wants better information about bus services, meaning buses leaving from streets near the center. People need to know where to catch the bus to Allestree. Current information is lacking, even at the bus station.
Information about buses from the bus station is needed and improvements for public transport would be great.
The council welcomes the EMCCA money and will formally approve it soon. They plan inner ring road and A52 upgrades. Some funding will improve bus services, though specifics about the improvements are not yet known.
Kathy Kozlowski said this is excellent news for Derby. The money will help the road and transport network and extra money for roads is welcome. They can’t borrow for highways in 2025/26.
