A man suffered serious injuries in an early Saturday assault in Derby. Police are appealing for information.

Paramedics helped the man right away. Police investigated, closing off several streets around The Wardwick, including Wardwick at Becket Street’s corner, Becket Street at Macklin Street, Newland Street and Bramble Street at Curzon Street, and Springwell Square. Police asked people used other routes that day.

Also, a separate assault happened Sunday, early morning on Bold Lane. Someone found a man with a head injury. Two men ran away toward the car park. Police want to talk to them, too.
