An old block of flats in Tonypandy, where a 93 year old lived alone, is being torn down to make way for new housing.

The building was always going to be demolished. Asbestos signs were present. Scaffolding and boarded windows covered it. Don’t worry, they removed all the asbestos first. Now the demolition is actually happening.
Trivallis wants to build something new there. The housing association submitted plans. Asbri Planning did it for them, but it needs approval.
It could become a new residential area. Other buildings are coming down too. The old Children’s Services and Con Club are gone. They want to build 17 one-bedroom flats. They also plan 25 two-bedroom flats. Eight semi-detached houses complete the project. Trivallis will manage these homes.
The new plan includes 32 parking spots. They will build a new road to access the site. Also, there will be open and green spaces for residents. A courtyard garden is also in the works. Sounds nice, doesn’t it?
Trivallis cleared up some confusion online. They said the council handles home allocation. Homes go to people who need them per their process. Everyone got this info during consultation. Pretty cool, right?
