After teaching skiing in France, Dave came back and did response policing in the Moorlands area. Then, in 2018, he joined a new road policing unit. Dave was a sergeant in Longton and the Moorlands. He helped with the CRaSH project lately.
This project trained officers in collision investigations, improving how they investigate crashes. He used off-road bikes to find riders causing trouble. Also, Dave supports VIP escorts and large transport operations. He teaches BikeSafe and helps young rider training.
Chief Inspector Scott McGrath spoke about Dave, commending Dave’s passion for teaching. He said Dave’s impact will be felt for years. He noted this passion spanned both BikeSafe and the Young Rider program. His colleagues and the community will miss him.
