They waited for Hunt and ambushed him inside a drug dealing house. Hunt, 45, broke in to buy drugs at night. He suffered nine stab wounds and collapsed. An off-duty doctor tried to save him, but Hunt died that night. The teen inflicted the fatal wounds, and Dawkins was there, part of the “team.”
They admitted conspiracy to supply drugs, specifically heroin and crack cocaine. Two women also faced charges in the case. Charlie Murray, 34, from London, and Roberta Taylor, 40, from Hull, denied conspiracy to supply the drugs. Murray also denied helping an offender. Taylor denied obstructing justice.
Murray was convicted of all charges against her. Taylor was cleared of all the charges. Murray’s boyfriend, Elon Williams, 30, from Hull, admitted conspiracy to supply drugs. Barry Leiper, 47, from Hull, also faced charges and admitted obstructing justice in this case.
Sentencing is set for March after reports. The judge remanded the teen, Dawkins, and Murray in custody. Police said the teen and Dawkins were violent. Their actions led to Hunt’s cold-blooded murder. It took 50 seconds to fatally wound Hunt, causing catastrophic injuries on his face and body.
Hunt’s friends tried to get help after the stabbing. Those inside ignored them and covered their tracks. The teen and Dawkins fled the scene, taking a taxi back to Huddersfield. Police arrested Dawkins a few days later, and the teen later turned himself in to police.
