A dead cat was discovered in a Morrison’s bag in Bellshill. Another cat found with it survived; both were underweight.

They found the bag on Hattonrigg Road in Bellshill. A person saw it passing by. They rushed the two cats to a Coatbridge vet, but sadly, they could not save one cat.
Both cats were really underweight and seemed unwell because of the conditions. The surviving cat needs treatment from the vet.
On February 8th, someone found another cat in an Ellis Street park in Coatbridge. One cat lived. The Scottish SPCA asks anyone with animal struggles to seek help.
The Scottish SPCA said, “We found two cats in a freezer bag from Morrison’s in Bellshill.” One cat died, and the other cat is getting care now. They added that both cats looked very thin.
The SPCA urges people to call them for confidential advice if you cannot care for pets. Their helpline is available if needed. They also said police found another cat near Coatbridge Police Station; officers discovered this abandoned cat.
The cat was a male tabby and white, in good condition and in a carrier. He did not have a microchip. Staff at a rescue center take care of him now. If you know any of these cats, please call 03000 999 999.
