A risk-taker parachutes from tall UK buildings. He says Birmingham feels different. This jumper does it up to 200 times yearly. Now, he claims he feels no fear before leaping.

Birmingham presents unique challenges, he said. It gives him a distinct surge. He jumped off the One Eastside skyscraper, which caused a police investigation within the city.

Someone filmed his free fall, showing him jumping from the top of the 51-story building, which is still under construction. He opened his parachute fast and landed near a B&M store in Dale End, near two buses.

A policeman grabbed him after this. The officer looked into the sky up high, then inquired where the jumper came from. Police let him go without charges, as West Midlands Police found no crime.

BASE jumping isn’t illegal in the UK. However, jumping without the owner’s permission could lead to legal action, which is trespassing, a civil matter. But, they must catch jumpers first.

He is an anonymous adventurer. He told BirminghamLive about his stunt, noting that he felt Birmingham’s security was tighter. It’s tougher than Manchester, Leeds or Sheffield, he said. The One Eastside jump felt more exciting because police dogs chased him during the jump.

This BASE jumper has ten years’ experience and had a huge “rush” during this particular jump. Police were on site, searching for him with dogs. He plans to jump in Birmingham again soon, although he said the city’s security is a bit tricky.

He praised West Midlands Police, noting their speed and professionalism, and compared them to other big city forces. BASE jumping is gaining popularity in the UK and Europe.

This daredevil finds the sport addicting. He and his friends jump often, with some doing up to 200 jumps each year, depending on experience.

He said he doesn’t fear the jump, yet he stays aware of the dangers. He checks all equipment with care always. Also, he takes a moment and analyzes everything, looking at the exit point, flight path, and landing area.

The biggest thrill remains the parachute opening. Time slows down in that moment. He wonders if the parachute will deploy. When it opens, adrenaline rushes through him.
