Tram services face adjustments until Feb 23 due to track work. Use buses, walk or change the route. Normal service resumes Feb 24.
The upgrades happen between February 15 and February 23. The route affected is between Wellesley Road and East Croydon. Services will stop on some lines. They want you to walk or use buses.
Regular tram service restarts February 24. They plan to add new trams by 2030. These new trams should be safer and better. They will have charging ports and AC. The new trams will have space for wheelchairs and prams. There will also be room for luggage.
They’re also doing maintenance during the closure. They want to prevent future disruptions. This includes fixing surfaces and drainage. Platform work also will happen then.
Saturday, February 15, some trams won’t run. No trams will run between Reeves Corner and Sandilands. Also, trams won’t run between Arena and Elmers End. If you need Elmers End, use the 289 bus. It runs from Elmers End to Addiscombe. It will stop there and at West Croydon too. Birkbeck is another tram stop option. The rest of the tram network runs normally.
Sunday, February 16 to Sunday, February 23 will bring more changes. No trams will run between Reeves Corner and East Croydon. This includes the Croydon loop. Also, no trams run between Arena and Elmers End. Again, use the 289 bus and Birkbeck stop. Roads near the work stay open.
