Associates of the Cox crime family must repay £190,000 or face extended prison sentences following a violent robbery.

Four men must repay £190,000. Otherwise, they face more prison time. Richard Caswell, Michael Nevin, and Jack Brownsill are involved. Scott Smith is also part of this group.
These men worked for Liverpool’s Cox crime family. The family committed a violent robbery in May 2020. They attacked two men with weapons, stealing £1.2 million worth of cocaine.
Jason, Craig, and Lee Cox must repay £121,000. They have three months to pay. If they fail, nine months will be added to their sentences.
Caswell, Nevin, Brownsill, and Smith had court hearings recently in Manchester. They must repay their illegal earnings.
Caswell got seven years in 2023 for drug and robbery crimes. Now, he must pay £74,956 within three months. He will get 10 more months if he doesn’t pay.
Nevin received nine years and nine months in 2022. His crimes involved drugs and criminal property. He must pay £29,780 within three months, or face eight more months.
Brownsill was jailed for four years and six months for similar crimes involving drugs and criminal property. He must pay £29,780 within three months. He gets eight extra months if he doesn’t.
Smith got a suspended sentence for money laundering. He must pay £485 in three months. He faces seven more days if he doesn’t.
Luke Clements is a prosecutor. He said criminals shouldn’t profit from crimes, which is why the CPS brought these men back to court.
They must pay a total of £190,000, or they will get more prison time without paying. The CPS can increase the order if assets become available. The CPS recovered £450 million in five years through Confiscation Orders. £88 million went back to crime victims as compensation.
