Nineteen new homes across Coventry are progressing, built on old garage sites using sustainable methods.

They construct the homes using timber frames. The frames are built in a Walsall factory. LoCaL Homes owns this specific factory. Excelsior Land then builds the homes on site. They assemble everything on the Coventry sites.
Timber frame construction is faster than usual. It’s also a more sustainable building method. For each tree used, they plant a new one. This helps the environment greatly. The process also makes very little waste.
Naeem Akhtar is a Coventry City Councillor. He saw the homes being built in Bell Green. He was impressed by the construction process. An old, unused site now offers homes. It will house Coventry families.
Coventry needs good homes like these ones. The project shows the council’s dedication. They want to find new ways to build houses. Social housing remains a priority. Citizen and partners make good progress.
The garage sites will have different home sizes. There will be one and three-bed houses. They’ll also build one and two-bedroom bungalows. Nick Byrne directs development at Citizen. He mentions the reduced carbon emissions.
Timber frames lower carbon dioxide output. They are much faster to assemble, too. Citizen hopes to make a positive impact. They look forward to seeing the homes completed soon. They work with partners to achieve this.
