Jamie Hoggins went to court in Coventry. He was arrested after a bad dog attack in Rugby, where three people were seriously hurt.

Police went to Bath Street around 3:35 p.m. on Monday, February 17, after reports of dogs attacking a boy and his dog. The dogs were said to be wild.

Three people who tried to assist the boy got hurt on their hands and faces. Police took ten dogs after it all happened; Warwickshire Police shared this information.

Hoggins, 33, owns dogs and got charged with two dog control counts for causing injury, one in 2023, and another for 2025. He has also been accused of an animal welfare offence, plus faces weapon and drug charges.

Hoggins, who lives on Baseley Way, went to court on Wednesday, February 19, in Coventry. He didn’t make any pleas at court and needs to go to Warwick Crown Court on March 21. The 33-year-old is in custody now, waiting for that hearing.

The seized dogs are getting care in kennels, and police are checking if they need anything. Rugby Sergeant Christian Jones thanked the helpers who bravely helped the boy and his dog.
