Over 200 women attended the event at Coventry Job Shop, celebrating International Women’s Day and women in male-dominated fields.

Female leaders from many sectors were there. They came from areas like the military and construction. Their goal was to inspire local women. They wanted them to explore new career paths.
Many companies attended the event, including West Midlands Police and Hill Group. Other companies included Prune Software and Tarmac. Speakers shared their career stories and talked about their successes.
Coventry College also participated in the event, offering advice on training programs. NIS Group and Challenge TRG-Skills were also present. Data shows men have a majority in construction, logistics, and software engineering.
Councillor Dr. Kindy Sandhu commented on the event, saying it was a key way to mark Women’s Day. She heard powerful stories from women wanting new careers and about employers’ achievements.
Dr. Sandhu added that they support women, and want them in good jobs with good pay. They also want women feeling like they belong. This event helps local women pursue new careers.
Elysha Coulson attended the event and said it was very helpful and inspiring. She would attend a similar event again.
