Rooftop Housing Group led the building project. Coventry City Council and Homes England gave money. The site has twelve places to live on Siskin Drive. Leaders say it is safe and modern, and the homes fit their culture.
Each place has parking for two cars, a day room with a kitchen, a bathroom, and utility space. They also have a backyard with a shed. A playground includes swings and a slide, which people have described as “amazing.”
John, a resident, said it’s amazing and unreal, noting the generous space and beautiful interiors. He’s happy his kids are settled and no longer living on the roadside.
He appreciates the extra space outside the caravans, saying it’s great to not always be stuck inside. He added that they can do many things there, and it’s like having a living room, shower, and bathroom all together.
Charlene, another new resident of Rosamund Close, is very happy. She said she has waited since July for this move, and now it’s finally happening.
Boris Worrall, from Rooftop Housing Group, said they support the GRT community by providing good housing that fits their needs. This offers families both a place to live and a stable future.
Mark Eaton, who works at Speller Metcalfe, also spoke about the new site. He said they gave the site to Rooftop Housing Group and believes the community will like it, finding it perfect for them.
