Tools used by a gang of wanted car thieves in Coventry are revealed after a major police operation.

Police recovered these items from the gang that stole cars and motorcycles. A large police operation brought them to justice. The operation targeted five young men.
Deacon Cumberbatch, Tyrone Henn, Jason O’Farrell, and Kian O’Shea were involved, along with a teenager whose name was withheld. They stole and sold vehicles around the city from 2022-2023 and committed 47 offenses.
The gang committed thefts, burglaries, and carjackings. Police said they hurt their victims badly and even tried selling stolen cars back.
Police found messages on seized phones. Henn complained about money, saying splitting £2,000 five ways was unfair, leaving him with only £400 from the theft.
The police arrested all five after the operation, which ran throughout Coventry in 2023 and 2024. Cumberbatch initially pleaded not guilty but later changed his plea.
Henn also pleaded not guilty at first but was convicted on February 12 at Leamington Crown Court. O’Farrell, O’Shea, and the 18-year-old pleaded guilty on the second day.
All five will be sentenced next month. Chief Superintendent Paul Drover spoke, mentioning removing them was very important.
Drover said the men were wanted offenders who caused a lot of crime in Coventry. The group impacted victims financially and mentally.
Drover added they were very brazen with a casual attitude, seemingly not caring much about what they did.
Officers across Coventry helped identify and arrest the five men. Drover stated that all officers should feel proud of their work, which secured this result.
