Two cousins, just out of young offender institutions, are jailed again for dealing cocaine in Swansea.

Ian Wright spoke in Swansea Crown Court. Police watched two men in a Vauxhall Corsa on January 8th near a shop. A drug user went to the car after using an ATM, and the car drove briefly.
The police approached the car, and Corey Jones and Lee Rose, both 20, ran. Rose got away at first, but Jones was caught with cocaine and a phone. Jones identified the phone as “the line,” and Rose later turned himself in.
The phone had texts and voicemails related to cocaine dealing. Jones is from Rosehill Terrace, and Rose is from Grampian Way. Both admitted to drug charges, and Rose also admitted to driving offenses.
Jones participated in the 2022 Mayhill riot, during which houses were attacked and cars were set on fire. He received a referral order at the time but couldn’t be named due to his age. In 2024, he got 28 months for drug dealing and was released on December 31, 2024.
Rose got 27 months in 2023 for dealing heroin, crack, and cannabis. He was released in July 2024. Stuart John, speaking for Jones, said Jones was naive and had little support, causing him to relapse after release.
Dan Griffiths represented Rose, stating Rose dealt for money, echoing his cousin’s reasoning. Rose regretted his actions. The judge sentenced them each to four and a half years. Rose also received nine penalty points, and they may serve 40% of their sentences.
