A couple with six children is facing eviction after 17 years, fearing homelessness and inadequate support.

The landlord’s family wants the house back, and they got a court paper in November. Geoff contacted Liverpool Council for help, hoping they could find a new home.
Geoff said he called the council many times, but no changes occurred despite his case supposedly being escalated over twenty times. Their landlord passed away in May 2023. Then, they received an eviction notice compelling them to leave by March 24th. Geoff feels the council isn’t helping them.
He made a complaint with the city because their mental health is suffering. They have always rented without issue and desire stability and security, as moving again is not an option for them.
Their daughter next door is pregnant, and Colette has health problems that significantly limit her walking. They really want to remain in the area because they cannot live in a flat.
Geoff and Colette are very scared and fear becoming homeless. They want a secure place to live without fear.
A council spokesperson said they will contact Geoff, aiming to help move his application forward and discuss his housing situation soon.
