Cornwall Council got some new planning requests. These include over 70 homes and a skatepark. People also want to redo an old mine for cottages. The council validates over 100 requests each week. Some interesting ones got selected, and people can view and comment on these online.

Planning officers decide most cases, although some go to elected council members who sit on planning committees. Decision dates are not set yet, but you can see the applications on the council website.

Coastline Housing wants to build 26 “affordable” homes in Mullion. The plans include houses and bungalows with parking and space for kids. The site is near other homes and located in a National Landscape area. See application PA23/10359 for more details.

Newquay Homes is planning to build near Truro, with plans for 20 to 25 homes in Zelah. They are seeking advice before submitting a full application and aim for 35% affordable housing. The site is 0.82 acres, and they are asking if this fits local plans. Check PA25/00135/PREAPP online.

Boss Property has plans to build in Helston, with six to eight new homes proposed. Two old houses would be knocked down at the location on Falmouth Road. See application PA25/01166 to learn more.

KML Ventures wants to build in Portreath, with plans for seven new homes on Feadon Lane, near the Gwel an Mor resort. They will improve parking and landscaping, describing it as a small and sustainable plan. The site is a vacant brownfield area and can be found at PA24/09471.

Trenicon Ltd hopes to rebuild the Gooninnis mine, near St Agnes, into five holiday cottages near a historic chimney. The site is part of a world heritage area. They will add a store and parking for ten cars, and, some old buildings will be removed during the process. See application PA25/01143.

Tregony has a skatepark proposal, and the council seeks a Lawful Development Certificate for it. It would be located on the village’s playing field, which is currently mostly used by dog walkers. Application PA25/01238 has the details.

Joseph Kevin Thomas has a plan for Illogan, seeking to build six affordable homes in a garden near Railway Villa on Trevelyan Road. The area is already residential. Application PA25/01038 has more information.
