The popular Fowey bus stop in Cornwall has been redecorated with a plant-themed design by a local artist.

Jane Tinsley first made it over. This happened after some anti-social acts. Decorators then themed it as a tea room. They also designed it like a yacht race. Last year, it marked the RNLI’s 200th birthday.
They change the designs often, twice a year. Sarah Worne is the current artist. She started helping with it in 2021. Her design has a plant theme now.
Sarah’s work is titled Thyme to Stop. It showcases real and painted plant pots. The artwork took less than one week to finish. She likes doing things that make folks smile.
Sarah wanted to warm people up in winter. The design makes you feel like you’re in a greenhouse. Waiting there shouldn’t feel so bad while getting a lift.
The designs avoid being too political. They engage the local community often. People offer their ideas to the team. Then, they might work together to put one in.
Sarah challenged Fowey River Lions to make one. They are working on one for Easter. She wants to do other bus stops too. Sarah has plans to visit other places.
The town council owns the Fowey bus stop. So, you must know bus stop ownership first. She’s eyeing other bus stops to brighten.
The bus stop has a popular Facebook page. It has over 2,700 followers online. The page shows all the different looks.
