Cork secures almost €100m for road upgrades. The funding will boost infrastructure across the city and county.

About half the money is for road improvements. Cork County Council gets €82.8 million, while Cork City Council gets €11.7 million. The total funding for Cork is €94,600,900.
Ireland has €713 million total for road work. Cork got about 13% of all the money, significantly more than Kerry’s €33 million and Limerick’s €38 million.
About €10.3 million is for weather problems. This money helps roads handle storms, which have badly damaged Cork roads lately. This funding should reduce storm damage in the future.
Jerry Buttimer, a Cork TD and Minister for Rural Transport, likes the funding news. He highlights that the national project amount is €713 million.
Buttimer said the money helps towns and villages and that Cork will see road improvements in 2025. It boosts travel, work, school, and businesses, making life easier and safer too.
