Billy and Maureen marked their 70th anniversary, returning to the Metropole Hotel where they had their wedding reception in 1954.
Hotel staff welcomed them and rolled out the red carpet. The staff gave them a lovely flower bouquet, and everyone posed for some photos together to remember the special day.
Billy and Maureen married in 1954, with the Church of the Annunciation in Blackpool, near the hotel, hosting the event. Their real anniversary is in December, and they also had a family dinner this week.
The couple ate a great meal with their four daughters shortly before Valentine’s Day this year. They filled the meal with love and laughter, making new memories while together.
The hotel shared the moment online, noting Billy and Maureen’s return to the hotel from 1954. They celebrated their platinum anniversary there too, and enjoyed lunch with their daughters, marking 70 years of love.
