Cork’s Business Association has a new president, Dave O’Brien. He wants Cork to be safer and cleaner. The CBA plans to start many helpful projects.

O’Brien got elected at a meeting last night. He works at Xeinadin Ireland, a business firm. This firm bought Quintas in 2023. He is ready to help Cork grow.

He knows there are problems and chances ahead. The CBA has great teams ready to work. Dave O’Brien leads tax at Xeinadin. He was involved with CBA for a good while.

He was a secretary, treasurer, and VP. He worked with Aaron Mansworth last year. CBA gained members and changed operations. They also started some cool programs.

He wants to make Cork safer and cleaner now. O’Brien also spoke about Cork City 2030. This acts as a long-term goal. In 2025, they will start a cleaning project.

It focuses on making streets look nicer. They will work with businesses and the council. Housing is a big problem coming up. O’Brien will find solutions using his skills.

He wants more houses above shops. Tax breaks could also help builders create homes. Better roads and transport are key too. This helps both businesses and locals thrive.

The CBA will push for things that help Cork’s economy. Last year, the CBA formed a safety team. They got more police and a safety van. They also started “Leave a Light On.”

This made nights feel better. Securing funds for wardens was a big win last year. These wardens will make streets safer. O’Brien wants this to happen quickly in 2025.
