A stray cat nicknamed Biscuit, found at a construction site, is adopted by worker Connie after becoming a beloved member of the team.

Connie Metcalf surveyed there and said the cat slept under a train each morning. She loved attention from the staff. Connie initially thought she belonged to someone. The site was busy and noisy. The cat didn’t mind all the drilling at all and wanted strokes from the workers, who then called her Biscuit.
Biscuit became a loved part of the team. When work finished and she couldn’t stay there, the staff wanted to help her find a home. Local rescue places had no room.
Connie didn’t want Biscuit to be a stray, so she adopted her. She took her to the vet first, where they checked for a microchip.
Biscuit now lives with Connie in Hetton, County Durham, with Luna, Connie’s seven-year-old cat.
Biscuit has luxating patella, meaning her kneecap dislocates. Vets say it’s very bad, grade four. She needs surgery to fix her knee, and they think she broke legs and her tail before too.
Connie said surgery might help Biscuit’s knee, and they might need to hold it in place. In worse cases, they might amputate her leg. Biscuit doesn’t always seem to be in pain, but she whimpers jumping off the sofa. She limps and then lies down after.
The anti-inflammatory medicine helps her. Sometimes she forgets about her knee. She feels good with the medication at times, then she gets a shock when she jumps.
Biscuit has no old medical records, so Connie can’t get insurance for her. Connie works full time and can’t get support to pay for things.
