Serial offender Patrick Boyle, 35, caught via DNA after an Airdrie office break-in last April. He faces sentencing in April.

His name is Patrick Boyle, and he is 35. The break-in happened last April in Airdrie. He stole about £1200 worth of stuff.
None of the items were ever recovered after the theft. The office owner found the damage. A window shutter was broken. There was glass everywhere on the floor too. They noticed some things were missing: radios, tools, and jackets.
Police found Boyle’s blood at the office. DNA matched him, placing him at the scene. He also broke bail and resisted arrest later. These were on separate occasions though.
His lawyer said Boyle commits crimes often, and it’s been that way most of his adult life. Boyle recently finished a prison sentence near Christmas. He’s now seeking help for his problems. Mental health issues affect him greatly. He deals with anxiety and depression.
Drug use makes things even harder for him. He’s trying to stay clean now. The lawyer hopes Boyle can avoid more prison time. Boyle knows he must stop using drugs; Valium is a particular problem for him.
A judge agreed to delay sentencing. He wants more reports about Boyle. The judge will decide in April what happens next.
