A popular path in Wales may stay closed this summer due to rockfalls and necessary repairs for safety.

People can’t get between the bridge and Coppet Hall now. The council already spent lots repairing it before this. More repairs are needed, and these repairs could take several months to finish.
The council issued a temporary order. The order stops people from using the path. It protects everyone from the eroding cliff. The order affects all traffic, including vehicles. It covers the path from Coppet Hall to Wisemans Bridge.
These restrictions could last about four months. Signs will tell people about the closure. The council says work could take longer than that. The order lasts six months if delays happen.
Last year, people ignored safety barriers. Chris Williams called them selfish for endangering others. Barriers and signs went up at the tunnel entrance. Fencing was placed near Wisemans Bridge. Some people damaged these safety measures. A gate was placed on the Coppet Hall side. Vandals cut a hole in the fencing on the other side.
