A British couple was murdered in France. Authorities investigate possible motives and examine phone records.

Andrew was a former criminal investigator, and 56-year-old Dawn died tragically alongside him. The British couple lived a nice life in Les Pesquies, near Toulouse, a place locals called lovely and very nice. On February 7, they were found dead, and officials declared it a homicide.
Andrew and Dawn married in September 2023, and Callum walked Dawn down the aisle. Authorities pursue all leads after their deaths.
Andrew was found hanged in their home with a gag in his mouth. No guns or knives were present, leading police to think he may have been tortured. Dawn was near the front door with a head wound, and jewelry lay scattered around her, prompting police to theorize they tried to escape.
An intruder may have killed them both. The prosecutor said the case is very open, and they are keeping their eyes peeled, not favoring any theory yet. Andrew’s father has many questions and very few answers right now.
CCTV footage is helping investigators, and police hope it caught the killer. CCTV shows Andrew buying things the day before he died, including chocolate and lottery tickets. The shop owner knew them and said they seemed like a happy couple to her.
Police are also checking their phones, as Andrew’s phone may hold vital clues. He used to work on organized crime cases.
Friends found their bodies Thursday, around noon, after they missed a dog walking date. The bodies’ position suggests they tried to escape, and the mayor said it wasn’t a burglary. No weapons were at the scene, and the bodies had no knife or bullet wounds.
Neighbors saw unusual activity before they died. One saw Andrew agitated on the phone and he seemed very worried. Another saw Andrew on the phone while walking the dogs, arguing loudly in English, and seemed unsettled.
Andrew used to fight fraud and terrorism, working to vet people on the UK’s business blacklist. Criminals may have targeted Andrew, and police think gangsters might be behind the murders because he may have made enemies during his career.
