Hey, guess what I just read? Chester’s mini golf place, Hole in Wand, is shut. It’s all because of flooding. They first closed on January 11th. Another flood hit on January 28th.

The place is wrecked, the boss said. They have to tear it all out, as the interior is mostly beyond repair now. It’s not opening for months, sadly, with hopes to reopen sometime between April and June. This wizard-themed golf opened in May 2024.

The problem? Restaurants are dumping grease wrong, blocking the city’s old, complex pipes, according to the managing director, Stuart Jarman. They removed everything from inside the golf place, and they are pulling up the floors now.

They need to dry the place before rebuilding. Lots of stuff got tossed, but some things were saved. Jarman is sad it closed, since it wasn’t their fault. Luckily, they have a great team in Chester.

Staff at Wizard HQ are helping plan the rebuild. They’ll fix the flood issue, which took time. Now they can start rebuilding the place, and they want to improve Hole in Wand. They will use feedback from 2024 visitors.

They hope to have a big celebration when they reopen. All the employees still have their jobs. Some went to the Blackpool location, which is another Hole In Wand site.
