New two bedroom home set to be built after appeal in Cheltenham conservation area approval.

Ravensbury Ltd. proposed building this new house. They got permission to knock down old storage and offices. A two-story house is going to be built, and people can walk in from Daffodil Street. The house will fit in with the area’s style.
The inspector said it would look good and thought it would not hurt nearby historic buildings. The council was worried about these historic buildings, however the inspector disagreed with them.
Suffolk Parade has old Georgian houses, and the street’s look was a main worry. This new house is small and simple. Therefore, it won’t overpower the bigger, older buildings. The old building had no special style so the inspector thinks the new house will make the street better.
They also checked if the house was good to live in. Up to three people can live there, and it has enough storage and space to move around. The outside space is small, however, parks nearby make up for that.
They thought about the environment too. More homes could hurt the nearby woods. The builder promised to help protect the woods, which made the Planning Inspectorate happy that the project will not badly affect the area.
There are a few rules to follow now. The builders must have a construction plan to help neighbors nearby. Cars cannot use the old entrance anymore, and they must add bike parking to help people walk or cycle.
