A man was attacked on Meadgate Avenue in Chelmsford. Police swiftly arrested a suspect for attempted murder.

Cops got there fast, within seven minutes, and helped the injured man with emergency workers. An air ambulance took him to the hospital. His injuries are no longer life-threatening, and he is still in the hospital getting care.
Police caught a 20-year-old from Great Baddow within 45 minutes of arriving. They suspect him of attempted murder, and he’s still in custody. The police investigation continues.
A police spokesperson mentioned the arrest was for attempted murder after an assault. It happened on Meadgate Avenue in Chelmsford at about 7:10 PM. The date of the incident was February 12.
Inspector Andy Drake said police will be around Meadgate Avenue, but there is no risk to other people. The investigation is moving quickly as police work to learn what really happened that night.
