Cheap Drinks at Essex Nightclub Unit 7 Remembered in Nostalgic Posters
Unit 7 was a popular nightclub in Basildon. Old posters show amazing drink deals there, attracting many people to its club nights.
The nightclub closed suddenly last February. All staff lost their jobs immediately, and the signs still remain up at the location. No one seems to be converting it yet.
You could buy six shots for only £12, including “bombs” at Unit 7. Even Wetherspoons won’t likely have prices this cheap!
Unit 7’s Instagram is still online. You can see all the old drink deals as they offered £3 drinks before 11:30 PM. This happened every weekend, but is rare now.
The club was famous for more than just cheap drinks. Unit 7 hosted fun events constantly, including foam parties and Wild West nights. People flocked there for fun.
Locals were sad about the closure last February. Rekom owned Unit 7 nationwide at the time, and they blamed the high cost of living for this closure. Young adults struggled, so they stopped going.
Rekom’s costs increased a lot for many reasons. Minimum wage increases added £2 million in wages alone. Rekom did well, then faced trouble after COVID-19 and how it entered administration.
