Auctioneer Charles Hanson’s trial at Derby Crown Court was temporarily halted due to his lawyer’s train being delayed.

Judge Martin Hurst postponed the trial, which will now resume February 18th. He explained the lawyer’s train issue, calling it a very sad incident. The court is located in Derby Crown Court.
Charles Hanson, age 46 and living in Mackworth Village, faces charges of controlling his wife, Rebecca Hanson, during their marriage. He also allegedly assaulted her at their home in Quarndon.
Hanson denies all the charges against him, disputing assault and coercive behavior. The charges include actual bodily harm.
Rebecca Hanson testified last week, stating her husband attacked her when she was pregnant. She said he grabbed her throat, making her feel paralyzed with fear, and also threatened to burn her.
She estimated about fifteen violent incidents between her and Charles. The trial will continue tomorrow.
