Adam Walsh helps a biking charity. He rode bikes a lot for them. Now, he gives the project to them. It raised thousands of pounds originally.

Adam will still lead the team for the Bridge2Bridge event. The Sailors’ Children’s Society will run it now. They raised twenty thousand pounds in 2024 The charity plans this year’s ride now and they want thirty business people. They will bike from Severn Bridge to Humber Bridge, which is 212 miles in two days.

Ken Ellerker Cycles helps the team. The SCS wants more sponsors too. The ride starts September 13, Saturday morning and they will arrive September 14, Sunday afternoon.

Adam wants the ride bigger, meaning more riders and more money. The Society can help this happen because they have a big supporter network. Adam will still lead the team and his company will still help. They will promote the ride benefits together.

Natasha Barley leads the SCS. She’s thankful to Adam and his company. Adam biked all 212 miles alone one day in 2023. His business helped form a team of eight who biked two days last year. Now they want thirty riders.

Riders can sign up online. The minimum to raise is fifteen hundred pounds. This supports SCS’s work that has supported kids for 204 years. They help kids of navy, maritime workers, fishing fleet and waterway families too.

Adam thinks the ride is hard and it tests your body and mind. But, the rewards are great, as seeing the Humber Bridge is special. You see friends at the end.

You cross the line with pride. Friends and family cheer you on. You feel great about finishing, then you think about the money raised. It helps families across the country and that is the best reward.

Angie Rawson rode with colleagues last year. Her husband, Geoff, rode too. The ride gave her a goal and she felt it was a good cause. She works in the marine industry, so it helped the industry and women.

Geoff’s family cares about SCS because his parents worked in maritime jobs. He had heart surgery a year before. He felt a bond with fellow riders who all wanted to finish and raise money. Find out more at sailorschildren.org.uk.
