British man seen on CCTV hours before he and his wife were found dead in their France home near Toulouse.
Someone saw Andrew the day before buying chocolate and lottery tickets. The shop owner said he seemed happy and couldn’t believe what happened. The shop owner said they were regulars and Andrew always bought cigarettes there.
He’d chat and buy snacks too, seeming relaxed and speaking good French. A neighbor saw Andrew the day before they died, walking dogs and arguing on the phone. The neighbor said Andrew seemed upset.
A friend said Andrew was worried because his garage door was open, even though he thought he had closed it, and he couldn’t figure out who opened it. Andrew’s dad is really upset, saying they have many questions but not many answers.
Police are looking into several possibilities. At first, police thought it was a robbery gone wrong. Later, they thought hitmen might have targeted them because Andrew used to investigate organized crime.
Some say Andrew was tortured. Dawn had a head wound and was near the front door. Jewellery was scattered around her. Police are considering all possibilities.
The prosecutor said they died a violent death. Murder-suicide is also being considered, though no weapons were found at their home. Autopsies should happen soon. Andrew moved his family to France ten years ago.
UK officials are helping the family and are also talking to the French authorities.
