The new Castle Gym, replacing the old Tales of Robin Hood, is on track to open this August with modern facilities.

This new gym is called Castle Gym. The original Castle Gym closed back in 2022, after which the city sold their old location to developers.
The new gym should open this August. Two guys, Luke Willmott and Ray Brewin, are behind this new Castle Gym. Ray even worked at the old gym for 40 years!
They want a cool community vibe, and aim for a modern feel. Nottingham City Council approved the gym plans last December. The construction is going well and they have finalized designs inside.
That building has been empty for a while; Tales of Robin Hood closed in 2009. It had a chairlift ride through Sherwood Forest.
The gym’s opening is actually ahead of schedule, they want it to be a city highlight. Ray said they’re working really hard on it, aiming for the best equipment and staff.
The new gym will have a smoothie bar right when you walk in. It’ll also have a big workout area with weights, and they want Hyrox machines too.
Upstairs, they’re building a business center with office space for about 30 companies. After that, they might open a fancy restaurant.
Luke said everyone keeps asking about the gym. He shares their excitement and wants to open as soon as they can.
