Bradford police warned people about a cash point scam. They saw more of these incidents recently. West Yorkshire Police reported more tampered ATMs. This happened in Bradford’s city center.

Scammers put plastic gadgets in the machines. These trap your card after you finish. They install these things when banks are closed. This stops people from getting help inside.

The suspects linger nearby and watch people. If the card gets stuck, they approach you. They say your card is safe inside. They tell you to ask for it the next day. The scammer then steals the card and uses it.

Police advise everyone to watch out for this. Similar scams happened in Huddersfield. Keighley also had these scams. If a machine swallows your card, call your bank fast.

Freeze your card using your phone app. Call them until you get it back. Do this until the bank confirms they have it. Report trouble to the police by calling 101. You can also report it online. Note the date and time. This helps police to get CCTV faster.
