Two cars became stuck on Red Wharf Bay; coastguards rescued drivers despite harsh weather conditions.

They found four people near Pentraeth beach parking. The cars were partly in water, but the vehicles were above the high tide line.
One car got stuck initially. The driver called a relative for help, but the relative also got stuck. The Moelfre team arrived after 4 a.m.
A team member said they found a car close to the parking area. The driver tried to reach their stuck relative. Their car became trapped too. All occupants confirmed they were safe.
The first driver arranged for a recovery vehicle. They waited until it came around 6 a.m. The first car was easily pulled out, but the second car needed a different vehicle.
The Penmon team stayed to provide safety. Only the first car had AA coverage. They told everyone to return in daylight and advised them to recover the second car then.
The day before, coastguards helped dog walkers and warned people about the rising tide. Many 999 calls reported people in danger.
The Penmon team saw many people and dogs near Llanddona, risking getting trapped by the tide.
One group, including one adult and four dogs, was in immediate danger. The Moelfre lifeboat rescued them. They landed and met the coastguards.
Another group got out at Wern Y Wylan and included one adult and one dog. Two adults and three dogs went to the saltings. Coastguards contacted another group, giving them advice for returning to Llanddona beach. This last group included two adults, a child and two dogs.
The Penmon team made sure the beach was clear. Then, they all went back.
