A renewed push aims to create the Carryduff to Belfast greenway after years of stalled progress, addressing local concerns.

The council is talking about it again. People have wanted this trail for ten years. It would connect Carryduff to South Belfast. Locals had a say back in 2016, and they liked it. Sadly, nothing much has happened since then.
A local councillor, Ryan Carlin, spoke about it. Folks are worried about the lack of action. New houses are popping up everywhere. Land for the greenway might disappear completely. Carlin asked the council to start the group back up.
He thinks the greenway could really help. It could link people and create nice green spaces, but we need to act now. Carlin wants the council to talk to landowners again. He mentioned that the Department of Health might sell some land.
This could be a key part of the trail. It would improve access and link things up. He said that with the new Lidl and sports fields, it’s a good time. The greenway needs to be part of Carryduff’s growth. He believes this project is really important.
The council needs to get serious and make it happen. The council group is back together now. They will talk to landowners. They plan to find funding and keep the council focused. They want to finally get this trail built.
