Drunk driver Ethan Walker injures eleven at a carnival, including six children, causing serious harm. He is jailed for 3.5 years.

Walker offered a ride to a friend. The friend refused because Walker seemed drunk. Walker then entered his parked Tesla. It was around 100 meters from the funfair. He drove on a grass area to Whitecross Road.
Then he sped up, going over 60 mph. Walker drove on the wrong road side. He lost control, so the car spun. The Tesla then went onto a grass area again. It collided with eleven people before hitting a tree.
People quickly assisted the injured folks. They waited for emergency services to arrive. Police arrived, finding Walker still in the car. He went to the hospital. He tried to stop drink and drug tests.
Walker pretended to be asleep at the hospital. He did not give a breath sample for alcohol analysis. However, he gave saliva that tested positive. Cocaine and cannabis were found in his system.
A blood test confirmed he exceeded the alcohol limit. Walker faced eleven charges for his actions. These included causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Walker admitted to the charges in court. This happened at Derby Crown Court on January 9.
He received his sentence. The court jailed him for three and a half years. He cannot drive for six years. He must retake an extended driving test. Detective Constable Dan Booth led the investigation. He spoke about Walker’s actions.
Booth stated Walker knew he had consumed alcohol. Walker also knew that he had taken both cocaine and cannabis. He sped off even knowing folks were nearby. Families were enjoying the village carnival. His actions injured several people, including kids. Some sustained serious harm.
Booth thought it was miraculous no one died. Walker’s driving had a big impact. Many people still deal with physical and emotional trauma. Walker also made it hard to run tests. This showed his disregard for the outcome. Booth stated that Walker admitted wrongdoing. He is now in jail for what he did. The detective expressed his satisfaction with the outcome.
