Edinburgh Zoo welcomes two capybara sisters from Jimmy’s Farm just in time for February half term.

The Royal Zoological Society runs the zoo. They have not yet named the capybaras. The zoo gives them time to adjust.
The sisters will stay inside at first. Then, they will explore their new habitat. The zoo staff say visitors will learn. People will discover more about these mammals.
Capybaras have a gentle and social nature. Their unique look also makes them special. Darren McGarry works at the zoo. He said they are excited about the capybaras.

He knows they are ready for adventure there. He wants visitors to love them too. Capybaras are the world’s largest rodents. Many animal lovers favor them.
Visitors can see them soon. They will explore a custom habitat. It mimics their natural home, with water and grass. Places exist for the rodents to hide.
