A man fled police on foot, clutching a Monster drink, following a drunk driving incident. He now faces penalties.

Police saw him near the Falcon’s Nest in Gosforth. Liversidge panicked when he saw them and jumped out of his Skoda Fabia and ran. The police quickly caught him near an Asda gas station.
Liversidge had Diazepam on him, no insurance, and just a learner’s permit for a driver’s license. He pleaded guilty in court to drunk driving. Liversidge also drove without a license and possessed a class C drug. He is now banned from driving for 16 months.
The police learned about Liversidge’s car near the Falcon’s Nest around 8 AM. The car’s engine and lights were on. Police watched him leave the car and say he ran away. They chased him to the Asda station’s back, where they arrested him.
Liversidge had nine Diazepam pills and took a breathalyzer test. It showed 57mcg of alcohol, above the 35mcg legal limit.
His lawyer said it was Monster, not alcohol, and added Liversidge was immature. Two women got arrested too. Liversidge confessed he drove after that. The car belonged to his pal.
The court banned Liversidge from driving, and his fine totaled £120. He also paid £85 in costs, plus a £48 victim surcharge.
