Wisbech funfair moves to Church Terrace car park in February, following a public vote on new locations.

Fenland District Council asked folks about the new location. The funfair happens twice a year and the Showman’s Guild runs it. It used to be at Chapel Road car park, which is owned by the National Trust.
Fenland District Council leases the Chapel Road car park, using it as a public car park. However, the lease renewal stopped funfair use, so the funfair had to move.
The first fair at the new spot is The Mart. It opens February 28 and runs until March 8. The Showman’s Guild uses the car park for two weeks, from February 23 to March 9, and motorists cannot use the car park then.
Church Terrace car park won the public vote. Other options included Somers Road car park. Wisbech Park was also considered as an option.
Church Terrace car park is also called St Peter’s Church car park. It is a good, central location for the fair. The council is working with The Showman’s Guild to make the move easy. They will check if the new site works well. The fair will also visit March and Whittlesey soon.
