Taxi drivers protest unfair parking tickets at Cambridge station, blaming a faulty system for incorrect fines.

These tickets came from NCP, the parking company. He appealed, showing his taxi app data. The data proved he wasn’t there when they said he was. Domenico worries about others who can’t prove their innocence.
They might get unfair fines, he thinks. He feels frustrated and thinks it’s a waste of time. It’s stressful waiting for appeals to process. People without proof still must pay the fines.
Domenico believes NCP should stop issuing tickets right now. They need fix their system, he says.
Gabriel Murgu, an Uber driver, received an unfair ticket last April. He showed Uber app evidence he was not there. They still told him in August he would be fined. In February 2025, he got a bill for £277. It was from Moorside Legal.
He contacted NCP again, but they didn’t respond. Gabriel said all the drivers are scared now.
It is hard to prove you did nothing wrong, he explained. No one seems to care about fairness. NCP says they investigated Domenico’s and Gabriel’s fines. They accepted their appeals and canceled penalties.
Sometimes, technology has problems, NCP admits. They aim to fix those issues when they occur. ANPR systems sometimes miss license plates. Tailgating or dirty plates can cause this.
This can make the system issue wrong parking tickets. NCP has an appeals system that is fair. They review each ticket individually. NCP apologizes to any customer who was affected.
