Hey, I have some news! Mountain rescuers saved five climbers in the Cairngorms. Two avalanches triggered by people happened there. This all occurred in just three days.

The Cairngorm team (CMRT) rescued three climbers in one event. Later, they saved two more climbers in a separate rescue. Both avalanches happened in Coire an t-Sneachda. This area translates to Coire of the Snow.

These incidents needed help from multiple agencies. RAF Valley and RAF Lossiemouth gave medical attention to the climbers. They also started evacuating folks after these avalanches. The mountaineers triggered the slides.

CMRT thanked RAF Valley and Lossiemouth for their help. Cairngorm Mountain Resort also gave assistance with these rescues. Previously, a video showed a helicopter rescuing two mountaineers.

These climbers got hurt after a snow cornice collapsed. This cornice broke under them on Sunday afternoon, February 16. Rescuers rushed to the Coire an t-Sneachda corrie. They stretchered the pair to a Coastguard helicopter.

The video shows them strapping the climbers onto stretchers. Then the helicopter took off. The helicopter flew them to safety. Their condition wasn’t known at that time. Earlier in February, Scotland saw an unusual avalanche season. It was quite different from the past.
