Two brothers face jail time for providing a shotgun to a man who then fled naked to evade police in Gloucester.

The brothers were only there briefly, staying at the flat for one minute. After that, they quickly left. It seemed they gave McGuinness a shotgun, and the shotgun had been shortened.
McGuinness went to jail last year. He admitted to weapons charges after running from his home naked to avoid police in Gloucester. He had a prohibited, very short gun, a flick knife, and cannabis at his apartment on October 7, 2023.
Cameras also showed McGuinness with clothes, carrying something black and grey with white stripes. He put it in a moped at the car park. Police searched his place later and found the shotgun in the moped, wrapped in a scarf.
McGuinness jumped out a window, trying hard to escape police while wearing no clothes at all. He’s now serving five years in jail.
Michael Connors is thirty-three, and Johnny Connors is only twenty-two. They didn’t answer police questions anytime, nor did they speak at their trial at all. The judge said they gave a bad weapon to someone likely to use it to commit a crime.
The judge spoke to the brothers, mentioning their silence. He noted their life choices involve bad crime, their hope that lawyers help them get away with crime, and the distress this causes their families. He asked what would happen when they get out and hoped they don’t repeat this cycle again, wanting to know what happened, but they never spoke at all.
Each brother will go to jail for five years.
A police sergeant spoke about the case, saying these shotguns are bad. Sawn-off guns have no good use, criminals use them to scare people and hurt them.
The police worked hard on this case after court, making sure everyone involved faced justice. This result shows they fight organized crime and want these weapons off the streets, helping keep communities safe.
